In Vitro Diagnostics | Haematology, Coagulation & Point of Care
Location: Field Based (UK & Ireland)
Salary: £75,000 + 25% bonus + Company Car
The Opportunity
Our client, a global leader in in vitro diagnostics, is seeking an experienced Pre-Sales & Tender Manager to lead their UK & Ireland pre-sales and tender function. This is a senior leadership role sitting at the intersection of clinical science and commercial strategy, shaping how the business wins and grows its footprint across NHS and private laboratory networks.
The Role
You will lead a team delivering pre-sales, tender response and product support across the UK and Ireland. You’ll own the tender lifecycle end-to-end from early engagement with laboratory networks and trusts, 12–18 months ahead of formal procurement, through to final submission and drive continuous improvement through post-tender reviews and best-practice sharing.
The Pre-Sales & tender Manager will also lead product lifecycle activity (launches, enhancements, retirements), oversee workflow and efficiency studies that evidence clinical value, and work closely with commercial, contracts, product, marketing and European partner teams to keep proposals competitive and compliant. Alongside this, you will coach and develop the team, manage workload and resourcing, and own departmental governance and compliance within the business management system.
Essential skills
- FIBMS, MSc or equivalent postgraduate qualification in biomedical sciences or related discipline
- Strong knowledge of haematology, coagulation and/or point-of-care diagnostics
- Track record leading high-quality tender responses, including governance and continuous improvement
- Experience within UK and Irish procurement frameworks (public and private)
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams, bid partners and suppliers
- Commercial, customer-facing experience within diagnostics
Desirable
- Experience launching diagnostic products and managing product lifecycle
- Budget planning and cost control experience
- Commercial training experience in diagnostics
- Experience supporting complex sales cycles via presentations and demonstrations
