Location: Milton Keynes (hybrid: 3 office days / 2 home days). This opportunity also offers a relocation package.
Are you a commercially minded contract professional who thrives on negotiation, governance and building trusted relationships? Our client, a well-established name in the diagnostics sector, is looking for a Contract Manager to lead the negotiation, execution and ongoing management of Managed Service Contracts, commercial agreements and Partner Supplier sub-contracts across their diagnostic portfolio.
As the commercial contract subject matter expert, you will play a central role in major tender opportunities, contract mobilisation, performance management and renewals, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective management of commercial, contractual and operational risk across NHS and private sector customers.
About the role:
- Leading negotiation and execution of commercial contracts with NHS customers, Managed Service Contract (MSC) providers and Partner Suppliers, from tender through to post-award
- Liaising with legal team, internal, customers’ and partners’ to finalise contracts and KPIs, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations including PCR2015 and PA23
- Monitoring contract performance post-implementation, including delivery against SLAs and KPIs
- Supporting pre-sales and tender processes with contract and KPI expertise, including presentations and competitive dialogue with customers
- Collaborating with the wider Commercial Support Services team to produce and collate tender responses
- Leading on CLMS system implementation and maintaining accurate records across CMS/CRM/SAP systems
Essential Skills
Essential:
- Proven experience in a Contract Management role, negotiating and executing commercial contracts with NHS customers
- A track record of negotiating and delivering successful commercial contracts with Partner Suppliers, including multi-supplier Managed Service Contracts
- Demonstrable experience identifying, assessing and mitigating commercial and contractual risk
- Experience working collaboratively to support sales/business development teams in achieving their objectives
- Detailed understanding of NHS procurement processes, framework agreements and public procurement legislation
- Ability to interpret commercial pricing models, financial schedules, service credits, KPI mechanisms and contract profitability metrics
- Educated to degree level or equivalent business qualification
- Full driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience managing complex commercial contracts within an IVD diagnostics environment
- Knowledge of Contract Law, procurement challenges and contract termination
- Foundation Certificate in Commercial & Contract Management (World CC or equivalent)
- Familiarity with laboratory-based IVD supplier technologies
- Experience implementing and rolling out software systems
