The Role:
We are working with a leading infrastructure organisation to recruit a design-focused professional to support the delivery of complex telecoms and construction projects. This is an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring design integrity, compliance and quality across critical infrastructure programmes, within a safety-first and collaborative environment.
The role sits within a specialist private networks function delivering end-to-end telecoms solutions across fixed, private and mobile networks. You will be contractually based from your nearest office, working primarily remotely with occasional UK-wide travel for meetings and project support.
Key Responsibilities:
You will oversee design management across construction contracts from award through to completion, ensuring compliance, governance, and technical assurance at every stage.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and maintaining design programmes and delivery plans
- Reviewing and approving design intent documents and technical deviations
- Chairing design and hazard review meetings, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated
- Overseeing design compliance audits and submitting design packages for approval
- Managing design change control and ensuring technical compliance of solutions and equipment
- Coordinating multidisciplinary teams to ensure design delivery aligns with safety, quality, and contractual requirements
What you will bring:
You will have strong experience in design management within construction, telecoms or energy environments with a solid understanding of technical delivery and compliance frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and design governance processes
- Experience managing complex design information across project lifecycles
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders and manage design change effectively
- Familiarity with SR135 and SR188 standards (or UK/BP TP135 and TP188)
- Background as a Design Manager, Design Office Manager or Authorised Person
- Strong focus on safety, quality and regulatory compliance
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional body is desirable
